I bought this bike because it was the only bike in this price range that I could find on Amazon that was tall enough for me. In retrospect I would have been much better off paying a little extra for the Diamondback Insight 3.I originally gave 4 stars but I dropped this review to 3 stars because this bike has needed a lot of maintenance in the first 9 months I have owned it. I ride this bike about 20 miles per week which translates to a little over 700 miles on the bike, and already I have had to replace the following parts: Brake pads, within a month of owning the bike I had to upgrade to the koolstop Supra 2 pads because the ones that came with the bike were destroying my rims. I purchased a new crank because the chain rings on the crank the bike came with had between a 1/4 inch to a 1/2 inch of runout and made derailleur adjustment impossible. Looking at the construction I don't see how just getting a similar replacement would be any better. I only paid 250 for this bike and stuck another 100 in it to install a decent crank and bottom bracket. I definitely wouldn't pay anymore then that. The crank is one of the most important parts of a bike so I don't understand the ultra cheap component choice. 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful Verified Purchase This review is from: Diamondback Bicycles 2016 Edgewood Complete Hybrid Bike (Sports) Great bike. Since I am 6'8", I have been hunting a long time to try to find a bike that I could fit without having to visit a very expensive specialty store. With the XL bikes, I was surprised by how much I had to lower the seat. Assembly was a little bit of a pain because of the generic instructions but after building bicycles for my girls as well, I have figured out how to do the majority of the steps and all bikes have very generic regardless of the company. Unlike other reviews, my box did include tools for assembly. |

More efficient than your comfort bike, more comfortable than a road bike: you'll be surprised at how often you end up choosing this hybrid for your ride. The Edgewood combines the same relaxed contact point features of a comfort bike with the smooth-rolling 700c wheels of a road bike. The comfort starts with our aluminum alloy frame. It's got a low stand over height for easy on/off and classic geometry for a predictable and stable ride. The suspension fork and seat post add an extra layer of cushioning, and the 21-speed drivetrain gives you plenty of gears to get you through any terrain. An adjustable stem helps you dial in your preferences even further. With plenty of traction from wide tires hassle-free linear pull brakes, it really is as simple as getting on and pedaling. With a ton of utility for the price, it's not Hard to see why the Edgewood is a perennial favorite.
